Sometimes you find the right lip balm but it doesn’t have the right flavour, or you finally found your favourite lip balm flavour but your sensitive lips reacted negatively to it. What is the solution, you ask? Create your own DIY lip balm, of course!

You’d be surprise to know that it only requires a few simple steps and some simple ingredients to customize your own lip balm. We have listed down a few variations of lip balm that we think you’d certainly have fun making!

Before starting, you need a few basic ingredients: beeswax or coconut oil, your preferred flavour and a tint. Once you have all these, you are good to go!

Unscented Lip Balm

Homemade Lip Balm

Not a fan of scented lip balm? Try this unscented version!

Ingredients

3 tablespoon Beeswax pellets

2 tablespoons Shea butter

4 tablespoons Coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Melt beeswax, shea butter and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave in 30 seconds intervals.
  2. Once ingredients are melted and well-mixed, pour the mixture into a pot or tube.
  3. Leave it aside to cool down for about 2 hours before using.

Peppermint Lip Balm

Give your lips some nice cooling sensation with this peppermint lip balm.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon Beeswax pellets

8 drops Peppermint oil

2 tablespoon coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Put the beeswax pellets and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Melt the ingredients in the microwave in 30 seconds intervals.
  3. Once melted, stir the mixture and make sure it is mixed well.
  4. Add peppermint oil into the mixture.
  5. Pour the mixture into a tube and leave it aside for 2 hours to cool down.

Who doesn’t love a pretty-looking floral lip balm?

Ingredients

¼ cup Beeswax

1/8 cup Shea butter

1/8 cup Coconut oil

1 teaspoon Coconut or Vanilla extract

¼ cup Rose petals

1 teaspoon Sweet almond oil

Instructions

  1. Put all the ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl, and heat it in the microwave in 30 seconds intervals.
  2. Once melted, stir the mixture and make sure it is mixed well.
  3. You can choose to strain or leave the rose petals in the mixture.
  4. Pour the mixture into tubes or containers of your choice.
  5. Pour the mixture into a tube and leave it aside for 2 hours to cool down.

Pretty Pink Tinted Lip Balm

Not a fan of apply lip colours but tend to look pale without it? Don’t worry. We got you covered with this tinted lip balm!

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Grated beeswax

1 tablespoon coconut oil

2 teaspoon Sweet almond oil

A small chunk of red lipstick

½ teaspoon Shimmer eyeshadow (optional)

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients together in a microwave-safe bowl, and heat it in the microwave in 30 seconds intervals.
  2. Once all ingredients melted, remove from microwave. Stir the mixture and make sure they are mix well.
  3. You may add in a few drops of essential oil if you want to add some “flavours” to your DIY lip balm.
  4. Pour the mixture into a tube or container of your choice.
  5. Pour the mixture into a tube and leave it aside for 2 hours to cool down.
