Makeup Geek eyeshadow is one of the best eyeshadows I’ve ever used, besides Too Faced’s. Period. They are so pigmented, long-lasting, affordable and offers a wide range of color choices too! No wonder they are sought after by many makeup enthusiasts (including me!).

MUG produces three types of eyeshadows; MUG Eyeshadow Pans, MUG Foiled Eyeshadows and MUG Duochrome Eyeshadows. These eyeshadows come in pan-sized that weighs for 1.8g and the prices range from $6 – $10, which I personally think is affordable considering the pan size. You can always buy them individually and put them in Z-Palettes. However, the company also offers them in bundle and sets such as Vegan Variety Bundle and 9-Eyeshadow Starter Kit.

Now let’s break down each types of the MUG eyeshadows and get into details!

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pans

They come in different finishes; matte, shimmer, frost and metallic finish. My personal favorite would definitely be the matte finish eyeshadows since I’m all about that matte kind of girl. The only shimmer I would use is in the corner of my eyes. These eyeshadows are pigmented, buttery, easy to blend, and the quality is on par with those high-end eyeshadows (totally agree with this!).

Colors that have been considered as must-haves are Cocoa Bear (matte reddish brown), Bitten (matte earthy maroon), Creme Brulee (matte medium sand color), Corrupt (intense matte black) and Peach Smoothie (matte soft peachy orange). If you’re looking for just ONE color to wear on everyday basis, I would suggest you Cocoa Bear or Frappe. You can definitely wear only this color on your lids to create some depth and shadow, and you’re good to go!

Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow

These eyeshadows are described as having a creamy texture a mixture between powder and cream shadows (best of both world!). They are also very opaque and intense. The finishing is metallic foiled finish and you can apply them using both brush and your finger. I personally prefer using my finger just to add some dash of color on the eyelids.

Comes in more than 20 colors but you can buy them in bundles as well, so that you can save some money! In case you’re not sure which one to buy, here are some of the crowd’s favorites; Showtime (rusty brown with warm undertones), Grandstand (medium rose gold with slight taupe undertones), Flame Thrower (true brightened warm copper), and Magic Act (muted medium gold)

Makeup Geek Duochrome Eyeshadows

Just like the foiled shadows, you can either buy the duochromes eyeshadows in sets or individually and this will save you some bucks. These eyeshadows are pigmented and fallout-free, which is a plus. Certain eyeshadows tend to have fallouts and it can messes up your makeup.

Here are some colors that caught my attention; Havoc (warm red-brown base with teal reflects), Voltage (vanilla base with champagne-yellow reflects), Ritzy (warm red-brown base with green and gold reflects). My favorite would definitely be Havoc and this was the very first color that stands out to me. The teal reflects just happens to give the perfect touch to the eye. You can see how beautiful the subtle reflection is in the photo below!

Now that you know everything about Makeup Geek Eyeshadows, it’s time to pray for your bank account because these are definitely for you if you’re a beginner and you want shadows that are pigmented and affordable! However, there are currently no official distributors in Malaysia yet, but MUG ships worldwide. You can buy everything from their website here Makeup Geek.

p/s: MUG eyeshadows are cruelty, paraben and talc free! Two thumbs up!
