Have you ever walked by a NARS counter (Mid Valley Mall and Isetan, KLCC) and stared in wonder at the rows and rows of the sophisticated makeup but were too overawed to buy? Well, if you have ever felt overwhelmed, this guide is for you.
I hope it will help you figure out where to start or at the very least, bring you up to speed on some fabulous NARS makeup you’ve been overlooking!
Top 5 Nars Cosmetics Products
The NARS Audacious Lipstick was one of the most highly anticipated launches since Tom Ford’s Lipsticks (in my wishlist!).
I was very impressed by the shade selection and walked away with four at first sight.
Raquel the nude is still my favorite, but Audrey the berry wears the best because it has more luster.
The formula is hydrating, but they do perform better than any other semi-matte lipsticks when my lips are freshly exfoliated and prepped with lip balm. The magnetic packaging is convenient and the opacity of pigmentation is phenomenal. You definitely need at least one, trust me!
Another product is the NARS Highlighting Blush There’s a nice balance of glow and sheen without emphasizing pores and the natural texture of the skin.
The way it reflects gives it a very creamy, luminous look–definitely more along the lines of a sheen than a frosted or shimmery look.
It can be used as a barely-there highlighter or more intensely, depending on whether you’re going for a low-key cheek or wearing it alone. The texture is soft and silky without being too dense or dry–you don’t have excess powder being kicked up when you go to use it, but you don’t have to stab at it to get enough product onto your brush.
I like using a small stippling brush to apply it lightly, or a small, tapered face brush for a more concentrated application.
NARS Sheer Glow has a little bit of everything:
1. Natural looking medium coverage
2. A finish that is neither too dry and matte nor too dewy with a lack of staying power
3. Good wear time when set with a powder (mac blot)
4. Mixes well with other foundations and moisturizers
5. Wide range of shades to choose from especially for those with pale skin or yellow undertones
A unique foundation that covers well but leaves no texture behind so it looks like natural bare skin.Crossing my fingers that they never change the formula as there is nothing else quite like it.
The Radiant Creamy Concealer is my Holy Grail NARS product.
It is one of the very few concealers that I can use on both the eye area and face (blemishes and hyper pigmentation). Most creamy concealers slip and slide around, but once the Radiant Creamy Concealer sets, it stays all day.
I love that it brightens up my eyes but hides my imperfections without accentuating the fine lines. It makes the skin look as flawless as possible. For the price, the performance is impossible to beat.
If you’re in the mood to splurge, I’d definitely recommend The Multiple from NARS.
It’s one of the brand’s iconic products, and since its launch over a decade ago it has expanded into over a dozen shades in varying degrees of intensity and shimmer.
These twist-up stick formulas add a sheer to intense wash of color to cheeks, eyes or lips—though we would say by far their strength lies in use as blush or highlighters.
Due to their emollient finish, they are ideal for those with normal to dry skin—those with oily or acne-prone skin may find their formulas undesirable.
These blend quite easily onto skin, and can be used over foundation or bare skin for a sheer wash of color that can be layered for more intensity.
To NARS credit, nearly all of the shades are pigmented enough to work on any skin tone.
