Remember when I showed you guys the contents of my beauty bag?
Yeah, just as scared as I was back then to unravel what’s within the updated depths of the deep, black hole of my beauty bag.
Okay, so this might be excessive to some of you, but it’s routine to me. In average, women put on 18 products on their faces, skincare and makeup in total. Alright, I might have made that up — but you get the point, right?
In my line of work, I have the privilege to luxuriate at home all day. I wake up, shower, make myself a hot drink and stare at my computer (with the occasional Netflix sesh) until it’s bedtime. I am actually deficient in Vitamin D, but there are supplements for that. No makeup, no hijab and the best part — not looking like a mess at the end of the day. And I cherish these moments because, I get to wear my monkey slippers, I can walk around in my clay mask for hours on end, I won’t choke in my own hijab and not having to touch up on anything.
However, when I do get out of the house for meeting/errands — I would like to have my makeup fresh. Unfortunately for me, I need to lug around a moderate-sized beauty bag packed with stuff that fits easily into my bag. Although, I will say that I do not advise to carry all of the beauty products below at the same time
but I did it anyways and in the same bag I don’t take my own advice. I would recommend that some of these products are best kept in your office desk or in the compartment in your car; you would not know when you might need them.
What’s in My Beauty Bag
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
First of all, I am a big fan of hand creams. I have them everywhere, in my bag, on my work desk, one in my sister’s car — everywhere. I don’t really care much for the brand, but this Ultra Repair Cream is the best, no doubt. Especially when it’s fragrance-free and gentle enough for my sensitive and eczema-prone, dry hands.
CK One Gold Perfume
It’s ridiculous to travel around in a full-sized bottle, I know. I just haven’t gotten around to getting myself a travel-sized perfume diffuser. But it’s too pretty to not bring it out and about. Perfect for those insta-worthy moments (don’t ask me when). This unisex perfume has the best crisp and clean smell to it. And I usually prefer the sickly sweet smells.
If that’s how I describe a perfume, that’s how I will.
Avene Thermal Spring Water Facial Spray
When you’re overheated or feeling dried out, this facial spray will do the trick. Yes, even if you’re wearing makeup–just hold it a little further from your face. It will de-cake your face and then, you’re all fresh again!
M.A.C Blot Powder in ‘Medium Dark’
I’m usually against carrying actual makeup jars and tubes in my bag–it’s bulky and messy. But I ran out of oil blotting sheets, so this will have to do for now. The color is too dark for me, but it’s great to pat the shine away. Also, I hate the applicators they always come in — so I used my Innisfree one, instead!
Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Quad in ‘Rust’
I have nothing but high praises. Now that warm eye colors are the trend, this quad is perfect for an everyday makeup. If the meeting ran a little later, I would bring this to touch up/re-apply right after I pray. I don’t usually do, though — it’s merely a “just in case”.
M.A.C Prep + Prime Highlighter in Radiant Rose
This is great to perk up your peepers. I try not to use it a lot, because then I’ll end up looking weird. If I looked a bit sallow that particular day, this will help me cheat a healthy, flushed looking skin.
Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar, Huda beauty Liquid Matte in ‘Venus’, Lucas’ Papaw Ointment, M.A.C Lipstick in ‘Persistence’. These babies are essential according to my mood for the day.
Innisfree Auto Eyebrow Pencil in ‘Chesnut Brown’, Maybelline Hypersharp Liner in ‘Power Black’, Too Faced ‘Better than Sex’ Waterproof Mascara and a drugstore eyelash curler. Again, these are mandatory — I rub my eyes a lot.
Are your beauty bag always this heavy, or is it just me?
Beauty is pain.
