Please introduce yourself
Hi, my name is Aishah Mohamed Amin, I’m 28 years old and currently living in Bangi.

I am currently managing Farar Place, an event space in Dengkil. I am also a part time blogger.

How did you start your career?
My background is architecture. Previously I taught architecture at a private college in Negeri Sembilan for 4 years.
After I quit teaching, I designed Farar Place (which is my mom’s property) and now I’m fully in charge of handling the event space.
What’s the current update about yourself?
I recently gave birth to my 3rd child, a healthy baby boy. I have 2 boys and a girl.
Describe your personal style in THREE words
Experimental edgy elegance.
Less or more?
Definitely less! (is more)
What do you wear on lazy days?
Abayas! They are the ultimate life saver.
Who’s your style icon?
Garypeppergirl (Nicole Warne) She has such an amazing style, she knows how to balance proportion, textures, lines, prints and silhouettes for the perfect outfit combination.
How do you stay up to date with fashion?
Urmm, can I say Instagram?
To be honest I wouldn’t say that I really stay up to date, because I don’t necessarily follow trends, especially those that don’t quite suit hijab-wearing women. I just wear whatever I feel suits my personal style.
What do you think about denim over denim?
Denim over denim is a great style that I think anyone can pull off. Just be careful not to go over board. Remember the justin/britney denim duo? Yikes!
Sneakers, flats or heels kinda girl?
I’m all the above! Hehe. But if I had to choose only one then I surrender to heels.
What’s your style philosophy?
Style should be something that is moving to us. It should impact us inside some way. Style is a physical embodiment of our personality.
What’s a fashion trend that can never let you down?
Metallics. It always fascinates me how metallics can create amazing contrast. Plus it looks striking on anything.
Do you see makeup as part of fashion?
Yes definitely! Makeup, like fashion is a form of expression. It has an impact on everything we wear and creates different human experiences.
Which celebrities have the best style to you?
International – Blake Lively. Need I say more?
Also JLO, she never plays it safe and always pays attention to every single detail from head to toe(nails). Local – Neelofa has a great sense of style that always compliments her hijab.
Monochrome or colour blocking?
Colour blocking! Im all about colours.
Who is the most fashionable woman that you know?
Mas Angelina. I’ve been following her for a long time and she’s always slaying with her fashion choices.
What’s your favourite thing to wear?
I love maxi skirts. There’s something about skirts that screams sophistication.
Accessories you can’t live without?
Sunglasses. The perfect final touch to an outfit. (and hiding eyebags)
Are you afraid of wearing an all-white outfit?
Not at all. You can never go wrong with an all-white outfit. Confidence is key!
What are the FIVE things that you must have in your bag?
My phone, wallet, foundation, lipstick and eyeliner.
What’s the priciest thing you ever splurge on?
I would say my wedding dress? It’s the only piece in my closet that costs more than a thousand ringgit.
I have this rule of never spending more than RM500 on a single piece of clothing or fashion accessory. Style doesn’t have to be expensive. I’m a firm believer in modesty.
If you have to wear ONE thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Ohh that’s a tough one! I think i’ll go with an Abaya, because it’s both comfortable and presentable for any occasion.
Which fashion trend that will never be out of style?
The LBD(little black dress). Hello, Audrey Hepburn?
Polka dots or stripes?
Polka dots. Polka dots seem more fun to me.
What are you currently following in the fashion industry (brand, news, model career, etc)
Im a huge supporter of asian fashion brands. I follow Fashion Valet very closely because the curated local brands they carry are all undeniably exquisite.
What do you like besides fashion?
I love anything related to art. I’m a very visual and sensitive person. Theatre, dance, musicals, fine arts are something I truly enjoy.
Your favourite apparel?
My current obsession – pantsuits.
What kind of style that you’re least confident about?
Florals or any other prints are really tricky for me. I’m more on the plus-size side so choosing a print thats flattering to my body type can be quite challenging.
What’s your favourite fashion brand?
Lovetodress. It’s a modest fashion brand that constantly comes out with these beautifully tailored dresses that takes my breath away
Who’s your biggest influence when it comes to fashion?
Scandinavian fashion in general has had a huge influence on my personal style. The simplicity and strait forward-ness is very appealing to me.
Name THREE things you can’t live without?
My glasses, my phone and my car.
When did you first involve in fashion?
When I was 3! (Since I could pick out my own outfits) haha. No seriously though, i’ve had a passion for fashion and styling since I was a kid(you can ask my mom, she’ll tell you the exact same thing)
