Please introduce yourself
My name is Raja Azureen Eleena but I go by Wiwin because it gets people confused (“Vivian” is a common mistake people would make). I graduated with a degree in Psychology and went straight into makeup after a few months of being broke/unemployed. I have always had a flare for makeup and I aspire to be a makeup artist for the masses.
What is your current occupation?
As of now, I am a full time makeup artist and a “social media influencer” –never fails to give the goosebumps hahaha!
Where can we find you online?
Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/wiwinmakes/
How did you start your career?
I’ve always seen myself as a dexterous person. I work best with my hands and I also enjoy seeing immediate results. Which led me to making the best decision of my life and that is to get myself certified and pursue my career as a makeup artist.
Describe your personal style in three words?
Minimal, effortless (just another word for messy) and comfortable.
Less or more?
Depending on what we’re talking about here. Less clothes, more mashed potatoes.
What do you wear on lazy days?
A pair of skinny jeans and a big flowy top to cover the food baby bump.
Who’s your style icon?
Emma Stone. That girl keeps it real. Classy yet attainable for us commoners!
How do you stay up to date with fashion?
Let’s be honest here. Fashion isn’t my strongest suit but if I do need a little inspiration, Pinterest is my main gal pal.
What do you think about denim over denim?
You would have to be tall to pull that look off. Just my personal opinion! Don’t kill me.
Sneakers, flats or heels kinda girl?
Flats all the way, my friend!
What’s your style philosophy?
“Does this make me look skinny?” If it does then you can bet your sweet cheeks that I’ll be rocking that pair of skinny jeans for a whole month.
What’s a fashion trend that can never let you down?
You can never go wrong with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a t-shirt that shows off that collarbone that you can serve soup out of. Complete the homeless look with a messy bun and a killer winged liner and you are out the door!
Do you see makeup as a part of fashion?
Let’s just put it this way, I could go out naked but with a full face of makeup anytime (if it was legal)! Just like how everyone has their own sense of style, everyone also has a go-to makeup look that makes them feel their best. So yes, makeup is definitely a part of fashion in my books!
Which celebrities have the best style to you?
Hands down, Victoria Beckham is still the queen in my eyes.
Monochrome of colour blocking?
Monochrome. Black on black on black. Can’t go wrong!
Who is the most fashionable woman that you know?
I think my Auntie Oji (@foodyluve on Instagram) would be quite up there. She doesn’t post that many OOTDs but her sense of style for someone at that age is pretty cool to me.
What’s your favourite thing to wear?
My cherry quartz necklace that I’ve had since I was 13 (I’m 24 now in case you’re wondering) that is supposed to bring me love and luck.
Accessories you can’t live without?
A belt to keep my jeans from looking saggy.
Are you afraid of wearing an all-white outfit?
I am honestly quite tempted to give that look a go. So no, I’m not afraid.
What are the five things that you must have in your bag?
My handphone. an Antabax hand sanitizer, oil blotter sheets, MAC’s Studio Fix powder, a body spray of some sort.
What’s the priciest thing you ever splurge on?
A pair of shoes that I’ve never worn until today.
If you have to wear one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A black oversized t-shirt.
Which fashion trend that will never be out of style?
A white shirt, slightly tucked into a pair of skinny jeans.
Polka dots or stripes?
Oh god, STRIPES FOR SURE!
What are you currently following in the fashion industry?
I recently followed Ong Shunmugam on Instagra, and oh my god, their pieces are to die for!
What do you like besides fashions?
Food. My love for food is writing checks that my body can’t cash.
Your favourite apparel?
My Zara ripped skinny jeans.
What kind of style that you’re least confident about?
Sundresses…. Is there such a thing as being “TOO” cute. Well it’s too cute for my liking.
What’s your favourite fashion brand?
If we’re talking about brands that I could actually afford, it would be ZARA.
Who’s your biggest influence when it comes to fashion?
I guess I would have to say those random hijabsters on Pinterest. I personally don’t wear a hijab but looking at how well the culture has influenced the ever-growing fashion industry makes me proud.
Name three things you can’t live without?
My handphone, my car and mascara.
When did you first got involved in fashion?
When my mom first swatched a tube of red lipstick on my lips at the age of 3.
